Young talents that have not reached the age of 19 on the day of the finals (13/03/2022) and that are domiciled in Belgium.
- Category 1: on 13/03/2022, not having reached the age of 13 yet
- Category 2: on 13/03/2022, not having reached the age of 16 yet
- Category 3: on 13/03/2022, not having reached the age of 19 yet
What?
All pieces have to be played by memory.
- Category 1:
- Compulsory piece J.S. Bach: small preludes or similar
- One or more pieces chosen by the participant
- Maximum duration SELECTION TESTS: 6 minutes
- Maximum duration FINALS: 7 minutes
- Category 2:
- Compulsory piece J.S. Bach: two- or three-part invention
- One or more pieces chosen by the participant
- Maximum duration SELECTION TESTS: 10 minutes
- Maximum duration FINALS: 12 minutes
- Category 3:
- Compulsory piece J.S. Bach: three-part invention or Prelude and Fugue from WTC
- One or more pieces chosen by the participant
- Maximum duration SELECTION TESTS: 15 minutes
- Maximum duration FINALS: 20 minutes
The finalists can play the same programme as they did at the selection test.
When?
- Friday 31/12/2021: Deadline for the entry forms
- Saturday 05/02/2022: Selection tests Session 1, starting at 09.00 am (Auditorium Piano’s Maene, Industriestraat 42, 8755 Ruiselede)
- Sunday 06/02/2022: Selection tests Session 2, starting at 09.00 am (Auditorium Piano’s Maene, Industriestraat 42, 8755 Ruiselede)
- Sunday 13/03/2022: Finals, starting at 3.00 pm (Bozar, Henry Le Boeuf hall, Ravensteinstraat 23, 1000 Brussels

What about Corona?
When preparing the competition for the 2022, it is still unclear to the organization which Corona measures will be in force in 2022. Out of enthusiasm and sincere conviction that it is important to continue to offer young people opportunities, it was decided to continue all the planning for a "full option" edition of the competition as in previous years. If it turns out at the beginning of 2022 that the measures do not allow this, the organization can decide to move or cancel the 2022 edition. In those cases, the candidates will get their registration fee refunded.
