Who is eligible?

Young talents who have not reached the age of 19 on the day of the final (03/03/2024) and are domiciled in Belgium.

  • Category 1: have not reached the age of 13 on 03/03/2024
  • Category 2: have not reached the age of 16 on 03/03/2024
  • Category 3: have not reached the age of 19 on 03/03/2024


What to play?

All works will be played from memory.

  • Category 1:
    • Compulsory work J.S. Bach: minor preludes or similar (only during pre-selections, not during the final)
    • one or more works of your choice
    • Maximum duration of performance during the PRESELECTIONS: 6 minutes
    • Maximum duration of performance at the FINALE: 7 minutes
  • Category 2:
    • ​​​​Compulsory work J.S. Bach: two- or three-part invention (only during preselections, not during the final)
    • one or more works of your choice
    • Maximum duration of performance during the PRESELECTIONS: 10 minutes
    • Maximum duration of performance at the FINALE: 12 minutes
  • Category 3:
    • Compulsory work J.S. Bach: three-part invention or prelude and fugue from DWK (only during preselections, not during the final)
    • one or more works of your choice
    • Maximum duration of performance during the PRESELECTIONS: 15 minutes
    • Maximum duration of performance at the FINALE: 20 minutes

It is allowed to play the same programme from the preselection at the final.

When?

  • Friday 31/12/2023: Deadline for registration
  • Saturday 03/02/2024: Preselection session 1, starting at 08:30 (Auditorium Piano's Maene, Industriestraat 42, 8755 Ruiselede)
  • Sunday 04/02/2024: Preselection session 2, start at 09:00 (Auditorium Piano's Maene, Industriestraat 42, 8755 Ruiselede)
  • Sunday 03/03/2024: Final, start at 15h00. (Bozar, Henry Le Boeuf Hall, rue Ravenstein 23, 1000 Brussels)


Good to know!

  • A first prize winner of a previous edition of the competition cannot compete again in the same category.
